About this event
Join PCIL Hunterdon Peer Group for Launch Your Future, a free, three-part Career Development Series designed to help participants build the skills and confidence needed to work toward their career goals.
Launch Your Future will take the place of PCIL’s regular Hunterdon Peer Group activities in November, December, and January.
The series includes:
November 9 Part 1: Know Yourself! — Identify your strengths, skills, interests, and workplace preferences.
December 14 Part 2: Market Yourself! — Learn about resumes, job applications, and finding the right employment opportunities.
January 11 Part 3: Present Yourself! — Practice interview skills, create an elevator pitch, and learn how to make a strong first impression.
The first session, Know Yourself!, will take place on Monday, November 9. Dr. Susan Breton-Treanor from Raritan Valley Community College will guide participants through hands-on activities and real-life examples designed to help them recognize what they can bring to an employer.
During Session 1, participants will: Identify three to five personal strengths Recognize skills gained through work, school, volunteering, hobbies, and everyday life Explore how their strengths and interests connect with different jobs Practice explaining their skills to a potential employer Create a personal Strengths Profile to use throughout the series
Each session builds on the one before it. Participants are strongly encouraged to register for and attend all three sessions to receive the full benefit of the series.
