Out of the Darkness Community Walk
About this event
This year I’m participating in the Out of the Darkness Walk because this cause is deeply personal to me. I’ve lived with treatment-resistant depression since childhood, borderline personality disorder, and the effects of trauma. There have been many times in my life when I wasn’t sure I would make it through, and today I’m grateful to be able to walk in support of hope, healing, and suicide prevention. I’m inviting our Meetup community to join me because this group has become so much more than a collection of people with shared interests. Through Meetup I’ve found genuine friendships and an incredible support system. I’ve always tried to be open about my struggles with anxiety and depression, and the kindness and acceptance I’ve found here have meant more than I can express. Whether you’ve faced mental health challenges yourself, supported someone you love, lost someone to suicide, or simply want to stand with those who are struggling, I’d love to have you walk with us. No fundraising is required—your presence is enough. Let’s walk together to honor those we’ve lost, support those who are still fighting, and remind one another that no one has to face these struggles alone.
You can join Team Better Together by RSVPing here on meetup and I will sign you up for Team Better Together.
Or you can make a donation here.
