Howdy!

Just North of Lake Allatoona up off 75 in Cartersville, GA, is a moderately trafficked double loop trail with a spur to the rocky top of Pine Mountain which has some really swell views of the countryside and the lake.

Please note: Alltrails ranks this trail as moderate. Even though the distance is under 5 miles I put it at "moderate +" given the nearly consistent inclines and declines, 1350 ft elevation gain overall, and trail areas with rocks and roots that need navigating. Translation: this is really not a beginner’s hike and we will be maintaining a reasonably quick pace of 2.5 - 3 mph. So, if you are unsure if this hike is for you, please read up first a bit on the information and some of the reviews in the links provided below before joining.

Parking is free and not far off the I-75 exit. Energetic doggies are welcome and encouraged to join.

The hike will start at 8:30 am, and I figure it will take us about 2.75 hours with a couple of rests and a little time to relax and take in the sites at the mountain’s summit. I do like to and do start events on time so please do not be late for the consideration of all attendees.

We will meet in the parking lot near the trail entrance. Just tap on the pin map included in the invite on your smartphone and google maps and it will get you to the right place.
