Let's hop Metro North to Grand Central and explore of bit of NYC for the day. I'll leave the Poughkeepsie station on the 7:58 train and arrive at Grand Central at 9:55. Meet me at the Po-town station or you can catch the same train from your local station and we'll connect at G.C. around 10 AM.

From there we'll take the subway to the financial district, meander down to The Battery for views across the Upper Bay toward the Statue of Liberty. Then, it's back on the subway to the renown Katz's Delicatessen for lunch. There'll be a waiting line at Katz's, but the best pastrami sandwich in New York warrants a bit of patience.

After, we'll head to the American Museum of Natural History until it closes at 5:30. The museum has a "pay-as-you-wish" policy with a recommended donation of $20-25, so the fee is up to you. And for those who want to linger afterward, Central Park is across the street, and plenty of food options are available on the Avenues behind the Museum. But we can play that as the day unfolds.

Getting home is easy: take the nearest subway to the Harlem Station at 125th Street, then Metro North back where you started.
