Sullivan County Audubon Society Annual Dinner
About this event
Crows and Ravens: not all black birds are alike!
Crows and ravens are regularly confused: they’re both big, black birds. Size aside, these Corvid cousins have very different lifestyles, from family associations to population trends. Join us and Dr. Douglas Robinson for a discussion on a pair of species that features large in our cultural history and everyday lives. Dr. Robinson is an Associate Professor of Biology at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. Dr. Robinson conducts behavioral and population biology research on birds and has spent decades following American Crows and their lives. His experiences have taken him around the world and include long-term stays on remote islands investigating seabird foraging biology, as well as supporting the well-being of Kākāpō in New Zealand. Dr. Robinson teaches Ecology, Anatomy and Physiology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology of New Zealand Flora and Fauna. Dinner choices betwen $39 and $43 including dessert and coffee.
