Join Bass Lake nature educator and Wake Audubon board director Matt Florez to see the landscape around Bass Lake differently while moving along the trail with a camera in hand.

This guided hike invites participants to slow their pace, notice light and detail, and practice thoughtful photography in natural settings. Wide views, subtle textures, and passing wildlife can be captured using any preferred camera, from smartphone to professional gear. Leave No Trace principles are incorporated throughout, supporting responsible photography outdoors.

You'll traverse a flat trail that borders Bass Lake that's unpaved and mulched with woodchips. Be mindful of your footwear as it can be a tad soggy after a heavy rain.

Find gendered restrooms and a water fountain to refill your reusable water bottle from the deck to the Park Center, just beyond the parking lot.
