Virginie Angiolini, researcher at the Québec Religious Heritage Council (CPRQ) will present a variety of adaptive reuse projects in places of worship realized across Québec in recent years. The projects showcased represent a range of stakeholders, uses, and architectural strategies in different contexts from urban neighborhoods to rural villages. In addition to these examples, she will also offer a brief portrait of the adaptive reuse of places of worship in the province, touching on the most prevalent new vocations and the repartition of these projects between these projects between the public, non-profit, and private sectors. Furthermore, she will offer general pointers and advice for how to successfully go about the process of adaptive reuse from start to finish, based on experiences accompanying reuse projects funded by the grant, going back to 2020. The presentation will be followed by a question period.
