Ecological Gardening Series: Crafting with Invasive Species
Ecological Gardening Series: Crafting with Invasive Species
About this event
Join us for a hands-on ecological art workshop that transforms invasive and foraged materials into creative, biodegradable works of art. Together, we’ll explore how plants like bittersweet, barberry, mugwort, and stilt-grass, often considered ecological challenges, can be repurposed into meaningful, expressive forms.
We will explore a range of creative crafts and projects using these found materials. Participants make handmade bookmarks from pressed specimens, create a wreath using bittersweet or a bamboo trellis, and experiment with natural inks. Plus some other fun surprises!
Come ready to get creative, learn responsible harvesting practices, and explore the intersection of art, land stewardship, and regeneration.
