The Moonshine Trails are a multi-use, natural-surface trail network located on and around the campus of Covenant College atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Named after the area's historical connection to illicit liquor distillation, the trail system is popular for both hiking and mountain biking. [1, 2] Trail System & Composition The network connects to the broader regional trail system via the Chattanooga Connector Trail (CCT) and comprises three primary branch trails: [1, 2]

• White Lightning (~1.5 miles): A fast, flowing, and somewhat technical downhill/descent trail.
• Firewater (~2.0 miles): An exploratory route featuring natural wood bridges, creek crossings, and rocky sections.
• Bathtub Gin (~0.5 miles): The shortest but most technical path, featuring tight turns, boulders, and rock gardens for advanced riders (which can be bypassed via the connector trail). [1, 2]

• Length / Type: Roughly 9.5 to 10.7 miles total depending on the full loop or out-and-back route (with about 944 to 958 feet of elevation gain).

Listed as 9.8 miles (Legal disclaimer: Actual miles may vary (If you have hiked with me it has been asserted that I underestimate distances by a mile or six) About 4 hours to complete

Moderate difficulty with a 971 foot elevation change. You are expected to know your skills and abilities. Moderate means if you are an experienced hiker you will find it moderately difficult. Not an experienced hiker? Probably a no for you.
