Chattanooga Bacon & Barrel Festival

Chattanooga Bacon & Barrel Festival

About this event

“NEVER DELAY KISSING A PRETTY GIRL OR OPENING A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY.” – ERNEST HEMINGWAY

Sound words of Wisdom by one of my favorites, Ernest Hemingway.

Whiskey? I mean what's the worst thing that can happen? Mark Twain once exclaimed "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.”. I trust these guys.

I may not have the best judgement here, but it has gotten me this far.

You could get Whiskey courage and do something ill advised. An over confidence boost and suddenly believe you're a world-class singer, dancer, or problem-solver. Lose your coordination and bump not things or stumble. Slurred speech and babbling. Words get tangled, and you start telling long, rambling, or nonsensical stories. Or you wake with a pounding head, dry mouth, and the "walk of shame" while replaying your night's events.

Whats the harm?

Now the other one that he mentions can be dangerous. Hemingway ran with the Bulls in Spain. He could've gotten gored doing that. A few stitches and dab some Mercurochrome on it good as new. Not nearly as dangerous as that first thing he mentions.

I will behave here. I want to stay out of trouble. (Quietly tiptoes around that and changes the subject)

So anyways it is the Chattanooga Bacon and Barrel Festival. These two of my favorite things. Do not sing Julie Andrews song. Please I beg. Anyways, Your Bacon & Barrel ticket includes unlimited samples of signature bacon-themed dishes and 12 whiskey samples, plus live music, fun photo ops, and more. There is also the All-Inclusive Ticket for unlimited access to food and drinks! This event supports Chattanooga Market, so every sip counts.

Charity folks. I am a giver. Especially if giving involves Whiskey and Bacon. The sacrifices I make...

There are two tiers of admission. I am going with the more limited General Admission. If you were at the other Whiskey festival we did you understand why. I may need adult supervision here.

Here is a basic explanation

General Admission — $55

Includes 12 whiskey samples or mini cocktails, unlimited food sampling, fun photo ops and more!

All Inclusive Admission — $95

Enjoy the VIP experience! All inclusive admission includes unlimited whiskey sampling, unlimited food sampling, commemorative glassware, a dedicated line and VIP seating area

Hemingway had a another more romantic quote involving smooching that didn't involve some drinking.

"I didn't want to kiss you goodbye. That was the Trouble. I wanted to kiss you goodnight., and there is a lot of difference."―Ernest Hemingway

He was a romantic

He had some solid life advice involving drinking. “Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.”- Ernest Hemingway

Of course for our more contemporary readers... “I'd much rather be someone's shot of whiskey than everyone's cup of tea.” Carrie Bradshaw

Me too Carrie Bradshaw. Me too.

I usually don't plan this far ahead in my life, but why not? Plus I can walk home from this.
